This is the process mostly after you have secured a job, and gives you the official offer letter. You can explore the job postings listed here, but it is highly recommended to reach out to the person hiring for the position via email or an in-person meeting.

Some Tips and Tricks to reach out to folks for on-campus jobs:

  1. Complete at least one semester before applying for a job, as they need your GPA to be able to hire you (undergrad only).

That doesn’t mean to not have a job to work on in mind, look for a job but apply only after one semester.

  2. After completing a semester, you will have an idea of how classes work, and maybe about some jobs like working on help desks, or in libraries, etc (for you to explore).

  3. If you want to work under a professor, that is a good time to email them for a position. It will be called an on-campus job and will give relevant experience required for the major.

  4. It's important to do research on a professor's current work before contacting them, similar to how you might research a restaurant's menu before visiting. When reaching out, ask about their latest research projects rather than previous ones, as you want to collaborate on ongoing work.

  5. Ask graduating students to refer/ put in a good word about you for the position they are leaving.

  6. Don’t limit your own department while looking for jobs, explore other departments too as they might have openings that might suit your profile.
